Pierce was born
on June 27, 1991. He died tragically on February 14th, 2008 at the
age of 16 while a Junior at Bethel Park Senior High School. He had plans to go
on to college to study music (both perfo
rmance and production) and was hoping to
get accepted at either Berkley in Boston or Julliard in New York City. Pierce
had an excellent ear for musical detail and loved playing his guitars and
drums. He enjoyed all types of music, especially ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s Rock. He
was fortunate to meet one of his musical idols several times and even had the
chance to join him briefly on stage during a sound check before a show in
Ohio. Pierce was able to buy a guitar once owned by this performer, who, after
learning this, offered to sign it for Pierce.
Pierce was very creative; writing poetry, and most
recently, music and song lyrics. He also enjoyed computer programming and
buildin
g just about anything. He tinkered with electronic circuits and helped
with many home improvement projects.
Since he was young, he was kind and generous, always willing to share of himself and anything he had he offered to others. He was outgoing, adventurous, fun and a great conversationalist. He truly knew how to bring a joy to everyone who met him and left a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to know him. In addition to his musical buds, over the years Pierce made many friends from being active in Indian Guides, Gymkhana Gymnastics, South Hills YMCA and YMCA’s Camp Kon-O-Kwee.
Pierce will be missed by his mom, dad, two loving brothers and everybody who he shared time with during his brief but rich life.
