Tom Hoffman is the Senior Vice President - External Affairs for CONSOL
Energy. Born in Steelton, PA, he currently lives in Upper St. Clair.
Tom holds a B.S. degree in geology from Dickinson College and a M.S. degree in
geology from the University of Wisconsin, where he was awarded the Stanley Tyler
Award for outstanding teaching. He also attended the Darden School of
Business Executives Program at the University of Virginia. Prior to
joining CONSOL Energy, Tom was assistant professor of earth science at Minot
State College in North Dakota. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of
the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, a member of the President's Leadership
Council at Fairmont State University and is on the Board of the Regional
Environmental Education Center in Southwestern PA. Tom is a past Chairman
of the North Dakota Lignite Council and the Government Relations Committee of
the National Coal Association. For nine years, he served as a Trustee of
Waynesburg University, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Upper St.
Clair Chamber of Commerce. He maintains membership in the American
Association for the Advancement of Science, the Public Relations Society of
America, and the National Investor Relations Institute.
