The first Washington County Youth Conservation Camp was held in August of 1985. The camp was open to any Washington County youth ages 11 to 13 and was touted as an exceptional Educational/Recreational experience. After 15 successful years, the Camp Steering Committee decided to curtail operation amidst rising costs and increasing liability concerns and created this fund, in 2001, to provide scholarships for conservation education and support charitable organizations involved in conservation in Washington County.
