Curtis Wachter was an accomplished photographer who died of cancer at the age of 25. Despite his young age, he touched many people through the images he captured on film. As a lasting tribute to him, this scholarship fund was created by his co-workers at the Observer-Reporter, his family and his friends. Scholarships from this fund are restricted to Washington County residents who will attend college to study photography or photojournalism.
