This perpetual fund was created by attorney David W. Sweet in memory of his father, Judge Charles G. Sweet.  In recognition of Judge Sweet's love of the law and his community, this Fund provides scholarships for law students and supports worthy charitable causes in Washington County.  Judge Sweet served two ten-year terms as Washington County's president judge.  For his handling of the Yablonski trial in 1971-72, Judge Sweet received the Man of the Year award from the Penn State Center for Police and Correction and the 1983 Distinguished Service Award from the Greater Washington Jaycees.
