(2001) - Created as a lasting tribute to Ron, this fund will provide an annual scholarship to a Peters Township High School senior pursuing an education in the field of engineering. Exemplary and popular were traits that made Ronald T. Miller an outstanding student at Peters Township High School. As part of his community service graduation project, Ron worked more than 100 hours at the Peters High School helping elementary school children. "He liked to play dodge ball on the playground with them and make them laugh," his mother said. "He was very outgoing and had a great smile. He was goal oriented and meticulous." "He taught me all about cars and how to play baseball," said his younger brother Adam. "He was very funny and always smiling." In high school, Ron was active in baseball, golf, skiing, and media productions, while maintaining a part time job at a retail golf shop. He graduated with honors from Peters High School in 2000. Ron was continuing his education at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, where he hoped to study mechanical engineering. He was home during the winter semester break when he sustained critical injuries in an automobile accident on December 22. He died New Year's Day in Mercy Hospital.
