Charles C. Keller Excellence Award for Corporate Philanthropy

The Charles C. Keller Excellence Award for Corporate Philanthropy was created by the Board of Trustees of the Washington County Community Foundation in 2011 to recognize a local for-profit business for exemplary giving and community service.


All for-profit businesses with operations in Washington County


  • Demonstrate a company philosophy of community service, such as time-off or flexible scheduling for employees to perform community service
  • Encourage employee commitment at multiple levels of the company
  • Donate resources including financial, personnel, facility or product
  • Orchestrate a sustained effort to address a community need
  • Promote active community participation by others Preference will be given to nominations where the company’s community service is not directly beneficial to the operations of the company

Nomination/Selection Process

On a continual basis, the WCCF will publicize the availability of the award through its publications and news releases. Applications, which are to be submitted using this electronic nomination form, will be accepted until January 31 of each year. Nominations and letters of recommendation will be forwarded to the WCCF Development Committee for review and consideration. The Committee shall forward its recommendation to the Board of Trustees, which in its sole discretion, shall have the final responsibility of selecting the annual recipient. The award shall be presented at the Foundation’s Philanthropy Banquet.
