Area public library serves Hopewell, Independence, Cross Creek Townships and West Middleton Borough.

Programs and Services

  • The Avella Area Public Library is a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of services to the public free of charge.
  • Our library has over 700 movies which can be viewed free of charge.
  • We offer Overdrive, a service that allows patrons to download e-books free of charge through the library website. Our collection includes over 500 audio books and 12,500 print materials for all ages as well as an extensive local history collection. We also offer internet access, meeting space, fax and copying assistance.
  • The library holds a monthly children's craft and story hour as well as the Summer Reading program in July.
  • The library holds an Annual Christmas Craft and Vendor Fair each November to support the daily operations of the library.
