Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
Programs and Services
- In the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh's Community-Based Program, one child (“Little”) is matched in a professionally-supported relationship (“match”) with a pre-screened and trained volunteer mentor (“Big”). Once matched, Bigs and Littles spend at least 9-12 hours per month together, developing a strong and enduring relationship, resulting in positive youth outcomes.
- In the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh's Site-Based Program, the agency partners with college students (‘Bigs”) from Washington & Jefferson College, who are matched with younger students (“Littles”) from Trinity Area and Washington school districts. Matches meet at their school for approximately one hour each week, developing a strong relationship that results in positive youth outcomes.
