Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania

Junior Achievement empowers young people to own their economic success through volunteer delivered programs which give students knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.

Programs and Services

  • Jr. Achievement works to marry school districts, communities and businesses in order to provide students with a leg-up towards financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. Our sessions are volunteer delivered providing the students with "real world" examples of success, overcoming failure and determination. This interaction also provides the gateway for mentorship between community and business leaders and the student.
  • Our programs start at Pre-K and run though 12 grade. We are not pay to play. There is no expectation that a school district contribute financially. We raise our funds via fundraisers (bowl-a-thons, ticket raffles, corporate sponsored fundraisers)We are looking to expand our presence in Washington County, adding more school districts and schools including smaller districts in the more rural areas of the county.
  • We currently provide programming in 5 of the counties districts and would like to see that number double or more by the end of the next school year.
