Washington Symphonic Orchestra

Mission

To entertain, educate, and inspire the community through excellent musical performances.

Programs and Services

  • Concert Season: Each year, the WSO Presents four concerts (one of which has two performances) at Trinity High School in Washington, PA that blend classical and pop works.
  • Young Artist Competition: Each year, one instrumentalist or classical vocalist who lives in Washington County and/or attends a Washington County School, high school age or younger, is awarded a cash prize.
  • Side by Side: High school students are selected to play alongside WSO musicians at the February concert.
  • Community Outreach: The full orchestra has performed free concerts at the Whiskey Rebellion Festival and at Carnegie Music Hall. The WSO is currently searching for a venue for a free, summer concert. Smaller groups including the WSO Wind Trio and the WSO String Quartet also perform throughout the community.
