Donate to a Local Charity
WCCF Acorn Fund
The purpose of the Washington County Community Foundation's (WCCF) Acorn Fund is to address the changing and unmet needs of our community.
Programs and Services
- Initiated in 1999 with a $50 contribution, the Acorn Fund currently consists of both temporary and permanent assets and has awarded more than $2,700,000 in grants to local charities, including more than $2,400,000 through WCCF Gives. Grants are awarded from each of the Foundation’s funding areas of arts & humanities, education, environment & animal welfare, health & fitness, human needs, and religion and faith-based.
- Grants from the Acorn Fund have helped to provide nourishing meals to the elderly and working poor; safe shelter and spiritual guidance to homeless families; equal access to worship services for the handicapped; large print reading materials and other services to senior citizens; earth-conscious water conservation efforts; life-saving medical care to fragile infants; and historically significant film documentary celebrating a local community.
This website contains an organizational snapshot, as well as links and contact information, for each of our participating charities. We have also included the tax identification number for each charity so Donors wishing to review more detailed financial and governance information may access the Form 990 for that charity via www.nccs.urban.org.
