Bequests

Including the WCCF in your will or estate plan can be accomplished in several ways. Sample language for your will is as follows:

"I give and bequeath to the Washington County Community Foundation, Inc., EIN #25-1726013, (a sum of $? or percentage of estate) to (detail the charitable cause or charities you wish to benefit)."

You may also choose to include the WCCF as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or individual retirement account (IRA).

Many donors choose to create a named fund during their lifetime and then add to that fund by bequest. In addition to the tax benefits, this strategy would enable you to see first-hand the impact of your generosity and would also provide the opportunity to alter the parameters of the fund if conditions warrant.

The WCCF also manages several pooled funds that you may wish to support, the Acorn Fund the Arts Fund, the Mother’s Fund, and the Brownlee House Preservation Fund. And if you would you like to help the Foundation continue to increase its charitable services in Washington County, you might consider a bequest to support the operations of the Foundation.

With so many charitable options available to you, we strongly recommend you contact the WCCF to arrange a meeting to discuss your short-term and long-term charitable goals.
