The Diabetes Education Fund was created in honor of the Foundationʹs 1999 Philanthropist of the Year, Wilfred R. “Pete” Cameron. The purpose of the fund is to provide for diabetes education at the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center of The Washington Hospital.
The Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center was made possible by a large donation from Pete and Nan Cameron to The Washington Hospital in July of 1999.
The Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center offers a variety of classes and programs for members of the Washington County community. These include: children’s programs, exercise classes, personal training, nutritional counseling, and Take Charge programs for individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes.
