The Thomas H. Milhollan Memorial Fund was created by the WCCF in conjunction with Thomas R. Milhollan being named the 2000 Philanthropist of the Year. The fund is named in remembrance of Tom’s son, Thomas H. Milhollan, who passed away in September of 2000.
Thomas H. Milhollan was the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Precision Kidd Steel when he passed away at the age of 59. The company was particularly well known for its generosity towards its employees. All employee benefits are paid by the company even after retirement. This was a result of Milhollan’s belief that employees should be treated and respected as family. Perhaps he learned this from his father, whose exemplary service and philanthropic giving made a lasting impression on Washington County.
Tomas H. Milhollan was born in Washington in 1941 and attended Washington High School, where he played basketball and football until his graduation in 1959. He went on to study Business Administration at Lehigh University where he graduated in 1964. He married Elaine Sargent Milhollan in that same year.
The Milhollan family will annually recommend to the WCCF Board of Trustees a charitable cause to be supported by this donor-advised fund.
