Ralph W. Young Family Scholarship Fund

For Graduating Seniors from Bethlehem-Center High School or Ringgold High School

Typical Award: The award amount may vary annually based upon the number of qualified applicants. Scholarships will be valued at a minimum of $1,000 per year.

Post-Secondary Program: Bachelor's; Only Public Post-Secondary Institutions within Pennsylvania

Requirements

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from Bethlehem-Center High School or Ringgold High School who demonstrates financial need and good citizenship. Applicant must be planning to attend a public post-secondary educational facility within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in any field of study. Applicant must have maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 throughout high school.
  • Students selected to receive a scholarship as a graduating senior may be eligible for up to three subsequent year scholarships, provided they maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for each semester. An official college transcript must be submitted each June. Scholarship recipients must also remain enrolled at a public post-secondary educational facility in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to retain eligibility.

Application

To be considered for this award, the applicant must submit an online application that includes:

    • A response of no more than 500 words to the following essay topic: Explain the importance of good citizenship.
    • A PDF of the applicant’s FAFSA Student Aid Report.

Deadline

All required application components must be received by April 1. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

The Foundation will take steps to secure transcripts for any applicant who is under consideration for an award. Scholarship awards are determined solely by the Foundation and scholarship awards may be rescinded at any time if upon further review, the applicant is deemed to be ineligible, or for any other reason as determined by the Foundation.
