The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is pleased to announce that ANSYS, a global leader in engineering simulation software, has contributed $25,000 as a 2017 Signature Sponsor of WCCF Gives, Washington County’s official community-wide day of giving set for Tuesday, September 12.

"ANSYS is honored to be able to share our success with the local community and to support all of the charities that are providing valuable services, particularly to those in need," remarked Ajei Gopal, ANSYS President and CEO. “Our leadership team was attracted to WCCF Gives because our gift will help to leverage hundreds of thousands of dollars from others to support over 100 local charities. That is a tremendous impact!”

The ANSYS gift will be combined with other sponsorship gifts to create a $100,000 bonus pool, which will be distributed to participating charities based upon the total amount received from other sources as well as the total number of donors the charities secure.

“Conducting a community-wide day of giving is a significant and costly undertaking for a community foundation, but also one that provides tremendous benefit to the community by providing a very low cost fundraising opportunity for local charities,” said Betsie Trew, WCCF President and CEO. “Over the past four years, more than $2,500,000 has been distributed in unrestricted grants to participating WCCF Gives charities.  Undoubtedly, the driving force behind that very significant number has been the bonus pool, which served to motivate both charities and donors. We are so very grateful to ANSYS and our other sponsors, who have provided the funding for the annual bonus pool. Without them, the bonus pool simply would not have been possible.”

Additional sponsors of WCCF Gives 2017 include: Signature Sponsors Washington Financial Bank and Chapman Corporation; and Community Sponsors Alex Paris Contracting, Observer-Reporter, Washington Auto Mall, and the Washington County Community Foundation Acorn Fund.

The online donation portal for WCCF Gives,, will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on September 12. WCCF Gives contributions via check will be eligible for the bonus pool if they are received at the Foundation by 8 p.m. on Gives day. Check-writing donors wishing to support multiple charities are encouraged to submit only one check for the total amount along with an official WCCF Gives Check Contribution Form which is available on and at the Foundation’s office.

Throughout the day on September 12, community members can track real-time donation information on the WCCF Gives website.
