Mission
The Jefferson College Historical Society brings together people interested in the history of Jefferson College, Canonsburg, PA and the surrounding area. The Society shall discover, collect, preserve and make accessible local and regional historical materials by making available public displays, library facilities and various educational media in its effort to inspire a diverse public and encourage appreciation, for and participation in relevant activities related to history and heritage.
Programs and Services
- Speaker Series: We sponsor local historians and other subject matter experts with regional knowledge and interests who present at member meetings of the society.
- Jefferson College Historical Society Museum: Located at 212 North Central Avenue in the lower level of the Auditorium of the former Canonsburg Middle School, the museum is open to visitors on the 4th Saturday of the month from 11 AM to 3 PM and by appointment.
- Special Events and Field Trips: Scheduled based on interests of our members.
- Jefferson College Times Magazine: Published several times a year, featuring articles related to the history of Jefferson College, Canonsburg and the local area. Members can opt to receive an e-version only or in addition to the printed version.
