Bequests and Other Planned Giving Options

Including the WCCF in your will or estate plan can be accomplished in several ways.

Sample language for your will is as follows:

"I give and bequeath to the Washington County Community Foundation, Inc., EIN #25-1726013, (a sum of $ or percentage of estate) to (detail the charitable cause you wish to benefit)."

You may also choose to include the WCCF as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or individual retirement account (IRA).

Many donors choose to create a named fund during their lifetime and then add to that fund by bequest. In addition to the tax benefits, this strategy would enable you to see first-hand the impact of your generosity and would also provide the opportunity to alter the parameters of the fund if conditions warrant.

You may also wish to support one of the Foundation's Strategic Initiative Funds or provide an operational gift to help ensure the Foundation has sufficient resources to provide its charitable services.

With so many charitable options available to you, we strongly recommend you contact the WCCF to arrange a meeting to discuss your short-term and long-term charitable goals.
