PA Giving Pledge

A Project of the Pennsylvania Community Foundation Association

Pa Pledge

Make a Lasting Difference in Washington County

The causes you care about today can continue to strengthen our community for generations to come.

The PA Giving Pledge, created by the Pennsylvania Community Foundation Association (PACFA) and supported by more than 41 community foundations across the Commonwealth, encourages Pennsylvanians to include a charitable gift of at least 5% of their estate in their will or other estate plans.

By setting aside even a small portion of what you leave behind, you can create a lasting legacy while still providing for the people who matter most to you.

Leave at Least 5% to Do Good

A Transfer of Wealth Study prepared by the Center for Rural Pennsylvania estimates $418 billion will be transferred from one generation to the next in the coming decade.

If Pennsylvania residents used just 5% of this wealth to create charitable endowments within community foundations, over $1 billion in funds would be available every year to support local grantmaking and community priorities.

By taking the pledge, you join thousands of Pennsylvanians who are helping ensure future generations have the resources to address local needs through their community foundations.

Take the Pledge

Simply include a charitable provision in your estate plan. There is no requirement that your pledge be made public and no documentation is required.

We do know, however, that public commitments can encourage others to give. Should you wish to make your commitment public, you are encouraged to contact the WCCF.

On behalf of future generations of Pennsylvanians, we thank you!

The WCCF is Here to Help

You don't have to figure out the details on your own.

The Washington County Community Foundation works with donors and their professional advisors to develop charitable plans that reflect each donor's interest, values, and intentions. We can help you explore your options, identify an appropriate charitable fund, and develop a plan designed to benefit the community you call home.
