Mission
Community public library that provides books;periodicals and magazines for approx.3,200-4,200 patrons amd provide educational programs.
Programs and Services
- We provide access to public computers and make copies for those in need of these service's.We have an older population who come for books and magazines.
- We do summer reading and other educational after school programs throughout the year. The older children use the library for homework projects.
- We do holiday events for all children.We work with the Marianna Fire Company to do a Christmas Parade every year,this gets the kids involved on building and designing floats.They also do a program after the parade.
- Marianna has a rich coal mine history and we continue to develop it. Last summer we worked on raising funds to erect a permanent plaque honoring those who perished in the 1908 Marianna Mine Disaster.
- Throughout the year we have displays on local history ,some on mining and we always have a large Memorial Day newspaper display.
