Mission
Monongahela Area Revitalization Corporation is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers living, working or interested in the sustained development of the Greater Monongahela Area.
Programs and Services
- The Annual Town Hall Meeting on the third Monday in September, features speakers on education, economic development, employment, transportation, health care, local history, natural resources, business community, etc.
- M.A.R.C. beautifies the community with garden plantings, planters, and hanging baskets. M.A.R.C. promotes community resources including the Monongahela River, historic homes and other buildings, Memorial Park (The Mounds) and Chess Park.
- M.A.R.C. cooperatively works with the Monongahela Main Street Program, the Monongahela Historical Society, the Monongahela Chamber of Commerce, the Monongahela Area Library, and other organizations in Monongahela, Carroll Township, and New Eagle areas.
- The "Monongahela Farmers Market" is now under the leadership of MARC. It is held every Friday during the summer in Chess Park. (June 10-September 27, 2022). The "Mutt March" previously known as the "Pooch Parade" (the annual parade of man and woman's best friend from the business district to Chess Park in May), and the M.A.R.C. 5K Run/Walk through the residential area of Monongahela are our primary fundraisers.
