Washington Jazz Society

Mission

To educate the public regarding the historical development and significance of jazz music, with a special emphasis on young musicians and young audiences. It is dedicated to promoting live jazz music by the local musicians and preserving jazz as an art. It will provide scholarships for deserving young musicians and jazz assistance education in the community.

Programs and Services

  • The Washington Jazz Society is a non-profit organization founded in 2007, whose mission is to educate the public about Jazz Music through concerts featuring national and local jazz musicians. The Washington Jazz Society provides scholarships for deserving young musicians, as well as Jazz educational and performance experiences for young musicians within our community. The Washington Jazz Society celebrates the Jazz Tradition, as we look forward to the future for the ever-evolving music called Jazz.
