The Chartiers-Houston Community Library Fund was created by a $25,000 contribution from an anonymous donor, this fund will provide annual support to the Chartiers-Houston Community Library (CHCL).
Located at 730 West Grant Street in Houston, the CHCL serves the community as a source of materials for educational, cultural, and informational purposes. The Library participates in the district library center program, is a member of the Washington County Library System, and participates in Access Pennsylvania.
To encourage lifelong learning and enrichment, the Library organizes discussion groups, film forums, art instruction programs, and many other activities. The Library also provides computers with word processing free of charge to registered users and assists students in the application process for college financial aid.
CHCL hosts an interactive website, www.chartiershoustonlibrary.org, and publishes an informative bi-monthly newsletter that includes both library and community activities.
