EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. – Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, up to $32,000 in processing costs related to WCCF Gives credit card contributions will be covered, ensuring that more donor dollars directly benefit local charities.
For the past 12 years, the Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) has hosted WCCF Gives, a community-wide giving event that supports local nonprofits. The Foundation has never charged charities to participate, but there have always been unavoidable fees from processors related to credit card contributions that are received through the event.
Thanks to this donor's commitment to covering the processing costs, the participating charities will receive the full amount of every donation this year.
Credit card donors will still have the option to cover the processing fee at checkout if they choose, further boosting their total contribution. This enhancement is designed to maximize the impact of every donation while giving generous donors the opportunity to contribute even more.
“Despite ongoing uncertainty in the charitable community, WCCF Gives is inspiring remarkable hope and engagement. This year's event has attracted a record number of participants, demonstrating the resilience of our local charities,” said Aliesha Walz, WCCF President & CEO. “The Foundation is optimistic that this momentum will inspire generous giving, and we hope you'll join us in addressing critical needs right here in our community by making a gift through WCCF Gives.”
Online contributions for WCCF Gives will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, at wccfgives.org. Donations made by check must be postmarked by September 18. Eligible contributions will enhance a charity’s chance to win WCCF Gives prizes, made possible by $100,000 in sponsor support. Visit wccfgives.org for full details.
