Eighty Four, PA – Made possible through the partnership of Range Resources and its many contractors, the Range Resources Good Neighbors Fund at the Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) has surpassed a major milestone: awarding more than $1.2 million in grants to local first responders since the Fund’s inception in 2018.

This year alone, $250,500 was distributed to 60 fire, police, and EMS organizations in Range’s core operating area to support life-saving equipment, communication tools, and critical facility upgrades.

“Throughout the years, Range and its service partners have continued to answer the call to support local first responders in our operating area,” said Tony Gaudlip, Range Resources VP – Appalachia. “These organizations serve our communities fearlessly and selflessly. Reaching this million-dollar milestone is the least we can do to show our gratitude to those who continue to protect us.”

Among the awardees, the Canonsburg Volunteer Fire Department used its grant to purchase a battery-operated rescue tool to assist in vehicle extrications and emergency rescues.

“Range has graciously supported our community in many ways, and we are thankful for the Good Neighbors Fund,” said Tim Solobay, Fire Chief of the Canonsburg Volunteer Fire Department. “It’s been very helpful for us as a medium-sized first responder organization—we’ve been able to secure important equipment without needing to host major fundraising events.”

With support from the grant, the South Strabane Fire Department equipped Truck 44-2 with new attack hose lines, critical tools that improve response time and effectiveness on the scene.

“These grants are truly saving lives,” said Jordan Cramer, South Strabane Chief of Fire & Emergency Services and Assistant Township Manager. “They've enabled us to purchase equipment that has already made the difference in real emergency situations in our community.”
