EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. – Through a partnership between Range Resources and the Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF), over $50,000 has been awarded to school districts through the inaugural Range Resources School District Enrichment Fund.
School districts within Range Resources’ operating area were invited to apply for grants of up to $5,000 for academic programming, supplies and classroom improvements for the 2025-26 school year.
Thirteen schools were selected in this cycle including: Avella Area, Bentworth Area, Burgettstown Area, Canon McMillan, Chartiers Houston, Deer Lakes, Fort Cherry, Hopewell Area, Intermediate Unit 1, McGuffey, South Side Area, Trinity Area, and Western Area Career & Technology Center.
“We are consistently connected with our local K-12 schools throughout the year, while also hosting our own programming, like the Range Resources STEM Challenge and Range's own student field trips,” said Chrissy Kramer, Community Relations Manager at Range Resources. “This fund allows for us to further support and provide a platform for unique programming within school districts across our operating footprint, in addition to our own unique educational opportunities.”
At Trinity High School, grant funding helped expand the school’s sensory-friendly silent disco program by providing additional iPads and headphones. The school now has more than 300 pieces of equipment, allowing them to invite special needs students from other schools in the area to participate in these inclusive events.
“It’s been incredible to see how the silent disco has grown and brought students together,” said Dr. Michael Lucas, Superintendent of Trinity Area School District. “Support from the Range Resources School District Enrichment Fund allowed us to expand an initiative that builds confidence, inclusion, and community among our students with special needs.”
The Fund is one example of Range Resources’ commitment to strengthening local communities. The company has also awarded more than $1.2 million through its Range Resources Good Neighbors Fund to support fire departments and emergency management organizations. Its newly established Range Resources Municipal Enrichment Fund includes a $50,000 commitment to benefit local municipalities.
