Mrs. Sara A. Schumacher, CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive)
As the Executive Director of the Washington Health System Foundation, Sara fosters philanthropic relationships to support WHS’s commitment to healthier communities.
Sara received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University of PA, majoring in Journalism as well as her MBA from Waynesburg University in May 2023. Sara’s experience in writing and event planning led her to an internship at Washington Health System in 2001 where she found her niche working for non-profit community health systems.
Sara currently serves as the co-president of the McGuffey Girls Basketball Boosters organization, is a founding member of the newly established Pittsburgh Chapter of Women In Healthcare (WIH) and is working to become a Baldrige Executive Fellow, a nationally ranked leadership development distinction. Sara has served previously on numerous other boards of directors and committees.
She and her husband Billy reside in Washington, PA. They have two daughters: Taylor, 17 and Quinn, 13.
