The Tershel Family Fund was created by Paul Tershel in honor of his family, especially his parents. “They lived in the Canonsburg-North Strabane area,” he explained. “They didn’t have the chance to go on to higher education, but they worked hard to give me the chance.”
Through this chance, Paul attended the University of Virginia and went to law school at Duquesne University. Before going into private practice, he worked for five years in the Washington County Public Defender’s Office.
The Tershel Family Fund will primarily benefit the Canonsburg Hospital, The Washington Hospital, and the University of Virginia. Grants will be advised by Paul and his family.
