EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. – The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is proud to recognize Michael S. Anderson as the recipient of the 2026 Richard L. White Excellence Award for Board Service, honoring his exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to advancing the Foundation's mission.
Named in honor of Richard L. White, a Founding Trustee and past Chairman of the WCCF Board of Trustees, the award recognizes an individual who exemplifies outstanding service through the sharing of his or her time, talent, and treasures in support of the Foundation and the communities it serves.
"Michael has consistently gone above and beyond in service to the Foundation," said Aliesha Walz, WCCF President & CEO. "His thoughtful leadership, financial expertise, and unwavering commitment have helped strengthen our organization and position it for continued growth. We are incredibly grateful for the countless hours he has dedicated to advancing our mission."
Anderson first joined the WCCF Board of Trustees in July 2018 after previously serving the Foundation as an auditor through Houston & Associates. Since joining the Board, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Finance & Audit Committee Chair and Treasurer from July 2020 through June 2022, Vice Chairman from July 2022 through June 2024, and Chairman from July 2024 through June 2026. He will continue his service as Immediate Past Chairman through June 2028.
In addition to his Board leadership, Michael has shared his financial expertise with local nonprofit leaders by serving as the presenter for the Finance & Operations session of Community PILLARS, the Foundation's nonprofit governance and leadership certificate program, since 2023.

In addition to issuing grants to local nonprofits, the Foundation also facilitates WCCF Gives, an annual giving event that benefits more than 100 local charities.
