The Washington County Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for more than 40 post-secondary scholarships. Each scholarship is unique, according to its donor’s wishes. The scholarships target students graduating from specific high schools, pursuing specific areas of study, and demonstrating financial need. The Washington County Community Foundation recently awarded a total of $100,000 in grants to two local charities to address low-income housing issues in Washington County specifically related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Blueprints received $50,000 for its Home Ownership Pandemic Response Fund and Connect received $50,000 for its Security Deposit Program.

The Washington County Community Foundation recently finalized its Charity of Excellence initiative, naming Blueprints the winner of the top award which included a $25,000 unrestricted grant, and the Washington Area Humane Society as the winner of a $5,000 People’s Choice Award. The Charity of Excellence initiative was the cornerstone of the Foundation’s celebration of its 25th anniversary in 2020.

Thirty-five local first responder organizations have received grants totaling more than $130,000 from the Range Resources Good Neighbors Fund at the Washington County Community Foundation. The grants will help purchase a variety of items including rescue tools, personal protective equipment, and firearms, as well as support critical facility upgrades.
