Community Foundation Announces Presidential Awards
The Washington County Community Foundation recently presented presidential awards to two local charities. Mon Valley Academy for the Arts (MVAA) received the President’s Crystal Award, which recognizes a small but improving charity. The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum (PTM) received the President’s Silver Award, which recognizes a more established charity who has met industry best practices regarding governance, management, and fundraising. Mary Elaine Lozosky: A Lifetime of Modeling the Importance of Education, Integrity and Civic Engagement
A trip to her ancestral home of Poland was one of the highlights of Mary Elaine Lozosky’s travels across the globe. She loved to travel, visiting 33 countries in 32 years. But regardless of the continent to which her travels would take her, she always returned to the little coal patch town in Washington County, which was her lifelong home, Daisytown, Pennsylvania.

The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is currently seeking applications from local nonprofits for grants from the GIVE Washington County Fund. Grants requests may be submitted from any nonprofit, governmental or educational institution providing charitable services in Washington County.

Community Foundation Accepting Applications for Capacity-Building Grants
The Washington County Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for its second and final cycle of capacity-building grants for 2024. An estimated $250,000 will be awarded in this cycle and grants will normally range from $5,000 to $50,000.
